Creating Teachable Moments Workshop and Expert Speaker Seminar -The Importance of Proper Nutrition for Children CLASS IS FULL

Course Description

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

By the end of the Creating Teachable Moments workshop, participants will be able to:

Use the Kit in a variety of settings
Practice adult learning principles to enable parents to use the materials in the Kit to address parenting and child development questions
Identify "teachable moments" with parents

By the end of the Expert Speaker session, participants will be able to:

The importance of addressing childhood obesity
How Diabetes in pregnancy can be a contributing factor to childhood obesity
Ways to prevent childhood obesity through diet and lifestyle changes
Recommendations for parents and/or caregivers who have children ages 0 through 5 (nutritional and activity suggestions)
