Regional Perinatal System (RPS)

Advisory Board
Purpose
The Regional Perinatal Board and Perinatal Advisory Council of San
Diego and Imperial Counties shall have as their purpose: 1) to foster
communication among providers in order to improve the quality of,
access to, and appropriateness of care for perinatal consumers;
and 2) to the extent possible, to identify and address unmet perinatal
needs in the Region.
Regional Perinatal Board membership shall consist of:
- One seat for each of the following hospitals or health systems:
- Children’s Hospital & Health Center
- Paradise Valley Hospital
- Naval Medical Center San Diego & Hospital Camp Pendleton
- Palomar Medical Center & Pomerado Hospital
- Scripps Health
- Sharp HealthCare
- Tri-City Medical Center
- UCSD Medical Center
- One seat for each of the County Maternal and Child Health Divisions
(San Diego and Imperial)
- One seat for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
- One seat for the American Academy of Pediatrics
- One seat for the Association of Women’s Health Obstetric
and Neonatal Nurses and the Southern California Association of
Neonatal Nurses
- One seat for the March of Dimes
- One seat representing community clinics that provide perinatal
services
- One seat representing San Diego State University Graduate School
of Public Health, Maternal and Child Health
Division
- Between one and six seats for members at large. At large members
shall be appointed to ensure that the Board reflects
the professional, geographic and cultural diversity of the region’s
perinatal providers and the types of
agencies/institutions offering perinatal services, such as School
of Nursing or Medicine, Advocacy groups,....
Meetings
The RPS Board usually meets the first Tuesday of every month from
4:30 - 6:00 pm at the RPS office. Please contact
