Regional Perinatal System (RPS) offers several perinatal nursing courses throughout the year. The Maternal & Newborn Nursing Care course is a 12-day course that prepares nurses with little or no obstetric background for clinical preceptorship in labor and delivery. The class is offered twice a year in the winter (January/February) and summer (July/August) months. RPS also offers a one day basic fetal monitoring workshop for the RN with 0-6 months experience in labor and delivery. This class is also offered twice a year in the winter and summer. Other trainings are offered on occasion in collaboration with The San Diego County Perinatal Educators group based on community needs.
