No Prenatal Care Statistics
Regional Perinatal System (RPS) collects statistics from birthing
facilities in San Diego and Imperial Counties. The data includes
the number of deliveries at each facility and the number of women
who did not receive prenatal care during their pregnancy. No prenatal
care is defined by most facilities as three or fewer visits to any
provider for prenatal care. However, some birthing facilities may
define no care as zero visits. The data is updated on a quarterly
basis.

Perinatal Profiles
Perinatal Profiles is a data set containing information about perinatal
mortality, entry into prenatal care, low birth weight/very low birth
weight births and cesarean section rates. Information from birth
certificates, death certificate of infants who died within their
first year of life and fetal death certificates was used to compile
the Perinatal Profiles data set. This data is intended to help hospitals
to evaluate their perinatal services, showing both their strengths
and opportunities for improvement in relation to other hospitals
in their region and the state as a whole. Specific hospital data
is sent to all birthing facilities in California on an annual basis.
